The third Tuesday of every month, Shining Hands has partnered with the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to provide fresh produce to area residents. There are no financial screenings to participate.  However, you must be a resident of Orange County.  This is the entire COUNTY of Orange, not just the Town.  If you don’t know if you live in Orange County, here are a few pointers….if your children attend Orange County Schools, you live in Orange.  If you pay your personal property or real estate taxes to Orange County Treasurer, you live in Orange.  You MUST provide proof of residency.  This can be in the form of your driver’s license, vehicle registration, utility bill, letter from local government agency.

If you are unable to get to the pantry due to physical incapacity or lack of transportation, please call 540-661-2047 and leave a voice mail message with information on how to contact you after 5pm.

You are invited and encouraged to come out to volunteer. This is an opportunity to meet and speak with residents in our community.  Email to register to volunteer!

Inclement Weather – If Orange County Schools are closed, there is no pantry.  If school’s are not closed and the weather is bad, listen to local news and radio stations or check our Shining Hands Facebook Page.  In the event the pantry is cancelled, there will be NO make-up day, the pantry will resume on the next regularly scheduled date.

The pantry is ALWAYS on the 3rd Tuesday of the Month, ALWAYS at 9:30am, and ALWAYS at Booster Park.  This NEVER changes.
